A 19thC MAMELUKE BY BAKER & SON. An attractive Mameluke sword with gilt chevron decoration, on the 31.1/4" curved blade. The royal cypher and GR are on the blade, also the royal coat of arms. together with Baker & Son 24 Bedford St, Covent Garden, London. amid the chevrons are damascene highlighting and 'Improved for Service' markings. The scabbard of brass has two rope design hanging loops, black grips and a sword knot present. See Illustration
