A MADRAS RIFLE OFFICERS SWORD & SCABBARD.
An East India Company officer in the 36th Madras Rifles Regiment, Indian Army. Battle Honours on the slim 32,1/2" blade are China, Mahidpoor and Ava, on the reverse side is the Rampant Lion . Also on the banners is etched Madras 36th Rifles, a bugle and a Dragon or Griffin. Andon & Co 17th Jermyn St London at the forte, strung bugle below a crown in the steel hilt. Complete with its steel scabbard, at the forte in script is ACB;
