John William Perrior enlisted in the Middlesex Regiment as a boy aged 14 years old in 1901. He served later with the Middlesex Regiment from July 1916 to January 1919. Afterwards in East Prussia in 1920.
Interestingly in his attestation notes, he has a Tattoo on his right wrist of a Horseshoe aged 14 years. Also a 27" chest weighing 72 Lbs at 4' 4.1/2".
Transferred to the Royal Fusiliers as a Bandsman (Boy) in 1904, reaching 18 years in July 1904.
Promoted to Sergeant in 1920, to Overseas in the same year. In 1923 promoted Band Sergeant, from Sgt Drummer. His Military Character noted as Exemplary.
A most reliable intelligent NCO who has always done remarkably well. Trustworthy and sober 1st Class Musician and side drummer. Good Athelete.
