AN IGS BAR BURMA 85-87 TO THE RIFLE BRIGADE.
An India 1854 Service Medal with bar Burma 1885-87, named to 1119 Pte G Bunce 1st Battalion R Brigade.
Born in Wiltshire George Bunce enlisted in the 4th Battalion of the Rifle Brigade in March 1877, aged 21 years and 6 Months. Transferring to the 1st Battalion on the 25th June 1877. He served in India for some 6 years, namely in Upper Burma from October 1886 until February 1889.
After service at home he was discharged on Termination of Engagement in February 1889. His medal is confirmed on the rolls, copies of attestation and service are with the lot.
