A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY TRIO TO THE COLDSTREAM GUARDS. A group of three comprising 1914 Star with 3rd August 22nd November 1914 clasp named to 99535 Pte W.J. Simms C.GDS. War Medal and Victory Medal similarly named. Walter James served as a Private with the Coldstream Guards between 10th January 1913 and 1st July 1917. He is recorded as wounded on the casualty list of 2nd December 1914 and entitled to a wound stripe. By July of 1917 he is deemed to be no longer physically fit for service due to Sciatica in the right leg. He was awarded a war badge number 251134. Mounted as worn.
