A GREAT WAR PAIR TO A MILITARY MEDAL RECIPIENT. A First World War pair comprising 1914-15 Star and Victory Medal named to G (GS) 1415 L-Cpl W.P. Joyce R.W. Kent R. William Joyce is recorded as serving with Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment, 1st Battalion. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field, which was recorded in the Gazette on 17th July 1917, p7281. William Joyce married in 1914 and served from 3/9/14 to 9/10/18, he entered France on the 1st of May 1915, he is recorded as being wounded on 8/12/17 and entitled to a wound stripe, later suffering again from wounds and becoming physically unfit for service he was awarded a Silver War Badge and discharged on the 9th October 1918 at the age of 27, he died in 1943. 2 medals unmounted.
