An Indian General Service Medal 1854-95 with Jowaki 1877-8 clasp named to 908 Private John Hilder, 4th Battalion Rifle Brigade, an Egypt Medal, the reverse dated 1882, with Tel-El-Kebir clasp, named to 908 Private J. Hilder, 4th Rifle Brigade. Renamed as Pte Hilder seems not to have been entitled to this award. Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with frayed ribbon named 908 Private J. Hilder Rifle Brigade. An Afghanistan 1878-80 Medal with Ali Musjid clasp, named to 910(?) Private J. Hilder, 4th Battalion Rifle Brigade.
