The cane with a rounded silver top (lacking hallmarks) decorated with the legend 'Shropshire' on a scrolling ribbon above Roman Numerals 'LIII' (53rd Shropshire Regiment of Foot) and beneath a crown. the stick with a buckle effect band engraved '5457 Lewis G.E.'. George Lewis is recorded as a Bandsman and a Private of the Shropshire Light Infantry during the First World War. 90cm.
