A WILLIAM IV GRADUATED SET OF FOUR MEAT DISHES
of shaped oval outline with gadrooned borders, interspersed with anthemion-like motifs, each dish engraved twice on the edge with a coat of arms, all by John Bridge, London 1831; the dishes measuring:-
i) 16.5" (42 cms) long,
ii) 16.75" (42.5 cms) long,
iii) 19.9" (50.5 cms) long,
iv) 24" (61 cms) long
Together with a graduated set of four Old Sheffield plated meat dish covers of plain oval outline with a moulded border of part fluting, and detachable handles, each engraved with a crest on one side and a coat of arms on the other (all of the above contained in a fitted, iron-bound oak trunk; 317 oz weighable silver
*The Arms on the dishes are slightly different to those on the covers, but they are both the Arms of Maitland.
