English School c.1860 Portrait of Henry Barrett Moulton-Barrett (1818-1896) seated holding a walking cane, oil on canvas, indistinctly inscribed Bradnes(?) Torquay 90 x 70cms Henry was a younger brother of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and as a child tutored by her in Latin. In 1860 he married Amelia Yeaman Morris nee Holland and died at Arcott, Sidmouth. Together with the companion portrait of his wife Amelia (pair) Also included with this lot is the Bible in red morocco binding that she is holding (The Holy Bible, pub'd at the Clarendon Press, Oxford 1808) (3)
