Lot 1640a
A 19TH CENTURY ROSEWOOD LIBRARY TABLE, the moulded top with gadrooned edges above a carved frieze, on two twin turned tulip carved pillar supports and similarly carved stretcher, scrolling platform and lion's paw feet.
*Provenance: this table comes by direct descent through the Regnart family to the current vendor. The Regnart family were an integral part of Maple & Co in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Henry and Horace Regnart, brothers, took over as President and Vice-President respectively in 1903 following the death of Sir Blundell Maple. Clare 'Hunter' Regnart then took over as President following the death of his father, Henry, in 1926 and the table was eventually inherited by his youngest son Norman Septimus Regnart, father to the current vendor.
