AFTER THE ANTIQUE; 19th century, a bronze study of Marcus Aurelius on horseback, modelled wearing a toga with his right arm extended, the horse with front leg raised and wearing a finely detailed saddle cloth, on a Siena marble base with gilt bronze mounts and scrolling feet decorated with owls and snakes, height 60cm. *Marcus Aurelius reigned from 173-76 A.D. The original sculpture can be seen at the Capitoline museum in Rome
