Shackleton, Sir Ernest. ALS, Quest R.Y.S., Nov. 19th 1921, :off the coast of Brazil "Rolling down to Rio". 1p., 4to., to Capt. John Howard, RN, with original envelope franked RMSP Andes Posted on High Seas. Shackleton thanks Howard for his letter and "It is wonderful to read your dates and to think you were on active service before my father was born…I have much correspondence to deal with and the 125 ton "Quest" is as usual rolling heavily". Shackleton died of a heart attack on board "Quest" on 5th January 1922. He was buried on South Georgia.
