Mortier, wood-engraved initials and tail-pieces, minor occasional spotting, eighteenth century calf gilt, spines tooled gilt with the Golden Fleece of Longepierre, extremities rubbed, some minor damage to the upper hinge of volume one, bookplate of Elwin Millard, 8vo, Duaci: Carolum Boscardum, 1602-1607 RARE. Tipped-in to volume one is a bookseller's description for this copy that notes, 'Lowndes gives a long account of the rarity of this work more so the last parts (10 & 11). The present copy cost its late owner £20 in the Hamilton sale, it is one of the most curious books relating to Early British History...'
