Includes essays, poetry, articles on grammar and politics (including news of John Wilkes), fiction, illustrated satires on manners and society, miscellaneous tidbits from newspapers, American news, engraved depictions of great houses, marriages, deaths and bankrupts. Includes numbered essays: "The censor" and "The police" in some issues; the first issue of the latter discusses the magistracy of Sir John Fielding.
