MUNFORD (American, 1925-1991) FIVE ABSTRACT COMPOSITIONS Two bear name Munford and number L19591 and L19593 verso, oil on canvas, all unframed, within a wooden packing crate stamped `MUNFORD` on the cover Each canvas 102 x 91cm.; the crate 109 x 98 x 17cm. Provenance: Robin Howard CBE (1924-1989) and thence by descent. Howard was an associate of London's Gallery One and a trained lawyer, hotelier and restaurateur. He was a flamboyant philanthropist, an avid supporter of the arts and the founder of the London Contemporary Dance Group (despite losing both his legs in the War). See also lot 673
