‡ROBERT G. D. ALEXANDER (1877-1945) SIX LANDSCAPE SUBJECTS Four signed, c.1922-1923, one after John Constable (`Folkestone Harbour`), watercolour, with pencil or with pen and ink 22.5 x 34.5cm and smaller (6) * Alexander studied at the British Museum for a year after leaving school. The Constable copy may date from c. 1894. The illustrated example shows the influence of Alexander's great friend Sir George Clausen and it is thought that he and Clausen, Mark Fisher and Philip Wilson Steer would share technical suggestions or even add elements to their friends' works when they worked alongside each other.

“Thank you for all your hard work on this, I know it wasn't the easiest cataloguing job, but the result has been fantastic. The sale will have made enough to fund two weeks of respite care at our hospices, providing a lifeline of support for our families.”
