containing approximately 140 watercolours and drawings, 1892-c.1938, comprising fluently neat and skilful figure compositions on political, social, moralising and many light-hearted themes (principally watercolour and ink, some pen and ink, some pencil), many with descriptive or literary aphorisms (eg `A wide-spreading hopeful disposition is your true umbrella in this vale of tears` or `One life can create a heaven for many lives` etc) within the image or on the support sheet, many dated and initialled, some with locations given (Heyst, Malines,Bruges,Naples, Messina, Genoa etc, also domestic scenes in Ilkley, Cambridge, Oxford, Chipping Camden, Rievaulx etc)
