"In August 1844, after an exceptionally busy time in London, I was tempted to revisit the Rhine and the Moselle.." Callow travelled to Dunkirk and travelled through Belgium to Cologne and Coblenz. He took a small steamer from Carden to Cochem, "where I remained for several days sketching."
