rectangular with bevelled gadrooned borders, bun feet and matted sides, the cover embossed with wrythen-fluting and four stiff leaves, centred by a rectangular cartouche engraved with a Baron's coronet and crest, the interior later fitted with a lift-out tray and three covered pots for use as an inkstand, these pieces also engraved with the Baron's coronet and crest, the casket by William Cripps, London 1756, the inkstand components unmarked; 10.5" (26.7cm) long; 85 oz
