A SCOTTISH SCALLOPED CIRCULAR DISH with part polished and part textured decoration inside and 4 applied swans with looping necks (2 on each side of the bowl) on the outside of the rim, the centre engraved with a godess riding a mythical creature under the sea, collet foot, by Brook & Son, Edinburgh 1921; 11.75" (30cm) diameter; 38 oz

*Made by Brook & Son of Edinburgh as authorised reproductions of pieces of Roman silver treasures found in the hillfort of Traprain Law, south of the Forth in East Lothian, Scotland in 1919 during excavations. The hoard was buried during the 5th century A.D and it is currently on display in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh
