A RARE COMMONWEALTH BEAKER of slightly tapering cylindrical form with an everting rim and a reeded foot, the upper body scratch-engraved with hatched formal scrolls and a linked, strap-like frieze around the rim, pricked on one side with the initials "P" over "I M", maker's mark "WH" star above, pellet in annulet below, for William Harrison*, London 1651; 3.8" (9.7cm) high; 4.85 oz * See Jackson's Revised (Pickford Edition), pp 122 for this maker's mark as seen on patens, a cup and a pair of alms dishes 1654-1656
