with a hammered finish & a drop-shaped bowl, by Reynell Oswald Huysche**, London 1931 together with a small handmade Scottish runcible spoon with applied concentric rings on the terminal, by Mary Syme Boyd*, Edinburgh 1938; the latter 5.5" (14 cms) long; 1.9 oz (2)
*Mary Syme Boyd, artist & sculptor studied at the Edinburgh College of Art and is most noted for her naturalistic animal studies and allegorical subjects. She exhibited at both the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute.
** Reynell Huysche was stepbrother to and trained by George Hart of the Guild of Handicraft at Chipping Campden, and when the Guild was wound up in 1908, Huysche went into partnership with Hart and later taught at Gravesend Art School.
