A KATANA.
A Katana in civilian mounts with iron tsuba and wooden saya. Signed with a Showa stamp then, Aso-Shu/no-Ju/Fuku-Moto/Kane-Mune. The translation roughly is Made by-Kane-Mune-living at Seki-in Mino province. The smith does not appear to be recorded.
Faded blue bindings with plain Fuchi and Kashira, lightly engraved leaf patterns on the tsuba. Plain black lacquer on the saya, brass habaki. 25.1/2" curved blade with some light staining in places.
