A CIVILIAN KATANA.
A Katana in civilian mounts with iron tsuba, matching fuchi & kashira also saya mount. Blade heavily stained and has nicks out of the edge. The handachi-koshirae is signed Hikata Tarobe-Jo Kiyonobu saku. A smith of this name is recorded as working at Osaka C1661. The blade is 66.5cm in length, the fittings have gold decoration and rusting to some areas on the mounts.
