A WESTLAND PROPELLER PURPORTEDLY FROM A WESTLAND WIDGEON.
The propeller marked to the central boss 'Westland A-S Genet' and 'D 2050 P1375 ACG No 6203, June/26' the boss with six bolt holes 17cm wide, 206cm long.
The Westland Widgeon was built at the same time as the Woodpigeon, it took part in the Ministry's Light Aeroplane Competition at Lympne. There was a single Mark 1 aircraft which when updated became the single Mark 2 which averaged 105 mph at Lympne in 1926. The Mark 3 saw a considerable redesign, two attempts to fly to Australia were made in the Mark 3, one ended in Baghdad the other in Athens. A total of 26 Widgeons were built in Yeovil.
