AN EARLY 20TH C. ALBUM OF PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE TENTH HUSSARS, V.C. INTEREST. A collection of approximately 139 images including large scale 'official' photographs, panoramic views and smaller privately taken images in the Rawalpindi area. To include images dated between 1908 and 1910, including 'The 10th Hussars Khanna Plain 1909', 'Galloping in double echelon of Squadrons Maxims in rear of Centre', 'C Squadron May 1908' 'Qzzetta Open Polo tournament 1908', big game hunting, 'Ridding school at R.Pinidi', 'Senior Officers Musketry Course 1910' and many other images. All contained in a distressed album, photographs 8.5 x 11.5 inches and smaller. The photograph of 'C Squadron' clearly includes Sergeant Henry Engleheart (1864-1939) who won his V.C. with the 10th Hussars during the Boer War as one of a party who destroyed the railway north of Bloemfontein, whilst returning from this action Engelheart saved Sapper Webb at great personal risk from enemy fire. He received his award from Queen Victoria on 15th December 1900.
