Rene Choquet (1872-1958) Un Match Inattendu.
A coloured lithographic print showing a dramatic early 20th Century race between a steam locomotive and a motor car, with frightening consequences for the car's passengers, a horse-drawn wagonette, and a road worker. Text in the lower margin indicates that the image was printed by the Minot Establishment in January 1906 for L'Estampe Sportive Artistique, with the monogram of the latter and the title in the centre. Mounted on a white sheet, framed and glazed. Print size 13.75 x 20.5-inches (35 x 52cm). Good condition, with excellent colour.
