A LARGE LATE 19THC/EARLY 20THC POND YACHT, BOX OF BOAT MAKING TOOLS & BOOKS - JOSEPH BEARD
an unusually large and impressive pond yacht, with a wooden hull and with masts and sails. Supported on a wooden stand, hull 148cms long. Also with a wooden box containing boat building tools (some with JB initials) and accessories, and also three books (Art & Science of Sailmaking 1892, Sails and Sailmaking 1893, and Model Yacht Building and Sailing, all marked inside Joseph Beard with various dates)
*This pond yacht and tools were found at a property in Holyhead on Anglesey. It was almost certainly made by a Joseph Beard, who appears on the 1891 and 1911 Census as a Sailmaster or Sailmaker living at Holyhead.
