RARE EARLY STEINER BEBE CLOCKWORK BISQUE HEAD DOLL
an early model of a Bebe Parlant Automatique (kicking Steiner, head turning, arms moving), with a solid dome head (wig never removed), almond shaped blue paperweight fixed eyes, slight shading over the eyes and blushing to cheeks and chin. With an open mouth with upper and lower teeth, the upper legs and hips covered in a soft leather, wax over composition limbs, with it's original dummy on a ribbon, and the body with an internal mechanism and original gilded key (mechanism needs freeing). 17ins (43cms high)
*This doll was in a private museum prior to the present owner, who has had this doll for a number of years. It has never been in an auction, from a private collection.
