A VICTORIAN 1861 PATTERN SHAKO FOR THE LONDON RIFLE BRIGADE.
With an oval flat top with feather plume to the front, outswept back with a small applied head of medusa, the front with a plate for the London Rifle Brigade beneath a crown, with leather peak and chin strap, the red silk lined interior marked for S.W. Sliver & Co. 67 Cornhill London, and applied gilt initials WAV possibly for a previous owner. 28cm high, 26cm front to back.
