A JAPANESE SHORT SWORD IN LACQUERED SCABBARD.
With a 47.5cm single edged blade, the Tsuba with scrolling stylized birds heads, the fabric wrapped shagreen handle with gilt highlighted mounts, the black lacquer scabbard decorated with five circulkar 'mon' type details, 68cm overall, the blade probably remounted and has not been removed from the handle.
