A GRENADIER COMPANY STIRRUP HILT SABRE. With a 76cm curved, pointed and fullered blade decorated in gilt against a blued ground with a pre 1801 Royal coat of arms, crown and GR cypher amongst military trophies and flowers, marked for Runkel Solingen to the back, the hand guard with a flaming grenade to the centre, with a wire wound ivory handle and lion's head pommel, with a leather scabbard with three gilt brass mounts and side ring suspension, the top mount engraved 'King & Bradford 118 Capel Street Dublin'. This address seems to have been used between 1806 and 1808. 93cm overall.
