A 1796 PATTERN CAVALRY OFFICERS SWORD AND SCABBARD.
With an 83cm curved and fullered blade, with a flat back and sharpened blade, unmarked, the brass hilt with pointed langets and forward swept quillon, with stirrup guard with slot for a sword knot, the backstrap and pommel in a single rounded form, the grips in checkered ivory. With a brass mounted leather scabbard with twin ring suspension and frog button, 99cm overall. Perhaps a sword for a Yeomanry Regiment.
