AN 1845 PATTERN INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD AND SCABBARD. With an 83cm slightly curved, pointed and fullered blade etched with crowns and Royal cypher, the blade marked for J.B. Warilow Gun Maker and sword cutler, Chippenham, the other side with proof mark possibly fo S.J.Pillin of London. With a nickel plated guard with VR beneath a crown and within an oval, the grip with fish skin cover and wire bindings, the back strap with leaf decoration, stepped oval pommel and attached sword knot, in a steel scabbard with twin ring suspension, 102cm overall.
