Lot 267
A c1930 Tri-ang Motor Caravanette
A rare floor toy, being a cross between a vehicle and a doll's house. It possesses its original furnishings and windows. Tri-ang's early vehicles in the late 1920s were described as 'Doll's Motor Vans' having an open-front cab design to create an easily accessible driver's space that was a perfect place for a child to put a doll or small teddy bear. The sides of the caravan have opening windows (apparently the same window parts used in some of their doll houses), and the back of the vehicle has two opening 'French Window' doors, together with a set of steps that can be moved into place when the doors are open. The chimney is missing but the electric lighting facility is insitu. Two windows need re-fitting. 18-inches long, 8-inches wide.
