A Hillman Herbert & Cooper 50-inch Ordinary Bicycle.
Retailed by Fred King of Wimborne, the 'Agent and Maker' inscription appears on the saddle spring. A classic period machine dating from the mid-1880s, it comprises patented adjustable main bearings, a fixed mounting step, 25-inch handlebars with palm grips, 6-inch stotted cranks and pedals. The spoon brake lever has been replaced. Probably re-spoked some time ago and, with tidying, a rideable machine.
